Hello
At Interacticubers, we don’t just see the Rubik’s Cube as a puzzle; we see it as a symbol of connection, resilience, and the quiet power of finding one’s place in the world. Our story began with a simple cube, a new school, and the shared passion that brought two strangers together.
Rex's Story
In grade 6, the year I moved to Canada, I found myself in a new world, navigating unfamiliar landscapes and searching for a sense of belonging.

"In the quiet corners of my new world, I found a puzzle that reflected my own journey—simple in form, yet filled with endless possibilities."
The Rubik's Cube became my steadfast companion during those days of uncertainty, its twists and turns offering comfort when everything else felt uncertain. It was more than just a puzzle; it was a lifeline, a bridge to new friendships, and a beacon of hope in times of solitude.
My connection to cubing deepened during a school talent show that year. Despite feeling like an outsider, I decided to showcase my newfound skill. As I stepped onto the stage, anxiety gripped me, but as the familiar clicks of the cube echoed in the room, a sense of calm washed over me.

"With every twist and turn, I discovered that the key to connection lies not in fitting in, but in boldly showing who you are."
When I completed the puzzle, the applause that followed wasn’t just for solving the cube—it was for finding my place in a new community. Suddenly, I wasn’t just the new kid; I was the “Rubik’s Cube kid.”
In grade 7, I took my passion further by participating in my first cubing competition. The experience was thrilling, filled with the excitement of competing against others who shared my passion. It wasn’t about winning; it was about challenging myself and pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible.

"The true competition was never about winning, but about challenging myself to keep turning, keep improving, and keep believing in the power of perseverance."
Each competition fueled my desire to improve, and the friendships I formed along the way became just as important as the puzzles I solved.
By grade 8, cubing had become more than a pastime—it was my passion, my anchor in the storm. As the world retreated into isolation during the pandemic, the cube remained by my side, its colorful faces reflecting the challenges and triumphs of those solitary days.

Hey there! I am Abhinav. As a kid, I had always felt intrigued about the concept of puzzles and its purpose. I never thought of it as something more other than a toy to play with. From the ages of 6-10, I was always curious, searching for puzzles to solve, and once I solved it, I would simply leave it at that.

In grade 7, during a trip at my cousins house, I noticed an unsolved Rubik cube sitting in the corner of a shelve. The realization hit me that I had never approached, let alone tried to play with the puzzle. While I enjoyed solving and playing with puzzles, it was quite embarrassing to not try the most sold toy in history. What better time to try it out than at that instance. As I picked it up for the first time, I was already intrigued and wanted to find out how to solve it. Little did I know, it seemed impossible to solve it. Just as how a common dilemma existed where to solve the Rubik's cube, you would have to solve each side at a time, I tried to solve it side by side. Little did I know, this approach is impossible.

While being a 7th grader, I was quite impatient. I wanted to solve it for the first time at that instance. My motivation for learning how to solve a Rubik's cube has never been higher. With this in mind, I went to Youtube, wanting to learn as fast as possible.

Following word for word, I was able to solve it, but I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to be able to solve it without any assistance. Slowly and surely, I was getting the hang of it. With practicing everyday, I was able to fully learn how to solve it within a couple of days. It couldn't have just ended there, I thought. I was stuck in a hole. I didn't know what came next. While I enjoyed puzzles, learning how to solve it and ditching it had become a habit and I wanted to break that. I wanted to have something that is sustainable and kept me motivated while having a hobby. That's when I discovered speed cubing.

The idea of solving something as fast as possible enlightened me. It is something that adds an element of excitement. Furthermore, being able to compete with others to learn and push myself was something I was missing in my life.

It wasn't just about trying to be the best, but more of having a competitive spirit while enjoying the most out of it. Being able to push yourself past new boundaries, while striving for improvement is another exciting element as a whole.
"When the world shut its doors, my cube remained—a small beacon of color and hope, reminding me that even in solitude, I held the power to create, connect, and continue."
In the quiet of my room, with the world outside standing still, the Rubik's Cube was a reminder that even in the midst of uncertainty, I could find clarity and joy in each turn, each solved puzzle.
Then came grade 9, a new chapter in a different part of the city, where I was once again a stranger. The halls of the IB school echoed with unfamiliar voices, and the faces around me were all new.

"In the echoes of an empty cafeteria, behind the mask of solitude, I found solace in the familiar twists of my cube—a reminder that even in isolation, connection and comfort are never far away."
Yet, as I stepped into that unknown, I held onto something familiar—my cube. It was a piece of home, a touchstone in a sea of new experiences.
On that first day, among the crowd of unfamiliar faces, I saw someone in the corner of the room, their fingers dancing over the squares of a Rubik’s Cube. Our eyes met, and in that instant, a silent understanding passed between us. The cube, once my solitary refuge, now became a shared language, a connection that needed no words. This stranger soon became one of my closest friends, and together, we explored the world of competitive cubing. We challenged each other, grew together, and found in each twist and turn not just the solution to a puzzle, but the deep joy of shared passion and friendship.

"Two lives, divided by chance, united by a CUBE."
